THE BEGINNING

TV Cracovia was founded in 1994 by Mr. Mark Jankowicz. This television station aims to propagate the Polish culture to viewers in the Greater Metropolitan Saint Louis area and southeast Illinois. In the pursuit of its commitment to serve its viewers TV Cracovia visits Polish communities across Missouri and Illinois.

These visits are followed by the entire viewing area broadcast. Polish program is currently broadcasted on cable television (Charter Communications) every Saturday and Sunday between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.

          

Under the leadership of Mark Jankowicz, TV Cracovia continued to participate in many cultural events that took a place in a various Polish communities.

AWARDS and RECOGNITIONS

 The weekly broadcast had soon gained recognition and popularity among Polish-American Communities.

Each anniversary of TV Cracovia was celebrated by bringing together more viewers from entire viewing area. Many awards were presented to Marek Jankowicz for his dedication to Polish culture and heritage.

      

In 1999 TV Cracovia received the award for the Best Ethnic broadcast and gained the status of the most watched ethnic program in the Greater Metropolitan Saint Louis and Southern Illinois area.

       

       

In 2003, while approaching a decade of successful journalism Mr. Marek Jankowicz was presented with the Gold Cross of Achievement Award for promoting a Polish culture on the American soil. The ceremony was held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, Ill.

It is impossible not to mention that all recognitions received by TV Cracovia over the years should be credited to all supporters who made weekly programs possible throughout their donations and continuous support. Also, TV Cracovia would like to thank many volunteers who helped in process of achieving its final framework.
